Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh parsley or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a shallow dish or large Ziploc bag, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger (if using), and black pepper.
- Add the pork chops to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the dish or seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours for maximum flavor.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the pork chops from the marinade, letting any excess drip off (do not discard the remaining marinade).
- Carefully place the pork chops in the hot skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
- While the pork chops are cooking, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes, until slightly thickened. This will be your sauce.
- Once the pork chops are cooked, transfer them to a plate and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Drizzle the simmered honey garlic sauce over the pork chops. Garnish with fresh parsley or sesame seeds, if desired, and serve immediately.
